Park Renamed: The City of Claremont hosted a ceremony on May 22nd, 2024 to rededicate Cahuilla Park as Joāt Park to honor the legacy of Claremont’s earliest inhabitants and generations of Indigenous people that have called Claremont home.
Joāt Park in Claremont, formerly named Cahuilla Park, the largest park in the city, is a bustling hub for community events, sports, and Pokémon Go exploration! This park houses the Youth Activity Center (YAC) and Taylor Hall, a large building frequently used for meetings and classes.
For sports enthusiasts, Cahuilla Park features a lighted baseball field, a basketball court, two lighted softball fields, and eight tennis courts. Additionally, the park offers a skate park and a playground, catering to a variety of interests and age groups.
The park also includes two picnic areas, perfect for group gatherings, a large parking lot, and restrooms.
