A trainer's guide to this park.
Trainer, be aware that dogs and bikes are not allowed on this trail. The nest extends to the majority of the Puente Hills Preserve but only the main, easy trail is provided below. The use of Spacial Rend may be worthwhile here to extend the spawn radius beyond the main trail.
This is a very popular area for hiking so you’ll likely encounter other people while exploring. Parking is free, it is recommended to get there at 9am when it opens if you want to park in the lot. Street parking is allowed too. The parking lot is called Sycamore Canyon Trailhead.
Follow the sign for Sycamore Canyon Trail, you’ll get to a split marked by a PokeStop labeled “Dark Canyon Trail” roughly a mile into the trail. Stay left to proceed on the easy trail. Continue straight up Dark Canyon(left) for a little longer before retracing your steps back to the start.
For more experienced hikers that wish to extend the hike, the nest does continue to the right of the switchback/trail fork onto trails that may be more challenging.
Sycamore Canyon Trail (Out & Back)
Generally considered an easy route, it takes an average of 1 h 20 min to complete. Stay left at the fork ~1.25mi into the trail.

Weather boost conditions and active events may affect nest spawn rates. Larger nests that are driveable, will result in higher spawn rates. For best results, keep moving to trigger spawn points as spawn cycles renew. Submit a spawn rate report »
