Buccaneer Beach Park in Oceanside, located in the charming South O neighborhood, offers a delightful blend of beachside recreation and Pokémon research opportunities. As Oceanside’s smallest beach, it features a lifeguard tower (Tower 11) and is situated just across from the popular Buccaneer Café, a perfect spot for a surfside snack.
During the summer months, the ocean directly in front of Tower 11 and between the rocks bordering the neighborhood homes, is designated for swimmers, waders, and body boarders only. Closed to surfers as a safety precaution, you’ll see the area marked with two checkered flags and swim-surf signs. The area outside the flags is open to surfing and all other types of water activity.
The park’s amenities include a free parking lot, restrooms and showers, the Buccaneer Café, a gazebo with picnic tables, benches, a jungle gym, a basketball court, and the Loma Alta Marsh Footpath for scenic walks.
